Students learn to examine and assess and care for medical patients; and practice personal and professional safety. Students will gain field experience through an internship. This program is offered at the Chester campus.

Jobs in this field include emergency medical technician.

Prehospital positions would include EMT, Advanced EMT, or Paramedic. While EMS personnel are often thought of responding to 911 emergencies they also support interfacility transports with the growing population of outpatient facilties and free standing emergency departments. EMTs and Paramedics also are involved with numerous niche specialties from Organ donation to  working on an oil rig offshore.

After completing your EMT course you would also be qualified for numerous positions within the hospital environment including Patient Care Technician. Becoming an EMT will open numerous doors into health care.
