GENERAL INFORMATION: Brightpoint Community College is a two-year public institution of higher education and is the third largest of Virginia’s 23 community colleges. The college is located within the Greater Richmond metropolitan area. RESPONSIBILITIES: Brightpoint Community College invites applications to apply for a part-time Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Instructor Assistant. The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Instructor Assistant will be responsible for assisting EMS Faculty during Practical Skills Sessions. This may include the delivery & evaluation of essential skills in the laboratory setting; assisting with set-up & breakdown of practical skills stations, as well as monitoring & documenting student performance of various skill sets. May include the following courses: AHA/BLS, EMT, Advanced EMT, Paramedic, and RN to Paramedic. May work at either campus (Chester or Midlothian) or other off-site locations. Weekend availability strongly preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrate a high degree of competency in EMS skills performance. Several years of recent EMS-related work and teaching experience. Virginia State and Nationally Registered EMT/Paramedic. Background check will be required before employment.
PREFERRED: State EMS Education Coordinator, AHA/BLS, AHA/ACLS, AHA/PALS, PHTLS, EPC and AMLS instructor certifications.
