Khushi
Chester Campus
I'm Khushi, a current Health Science major looking to transition into Nursing in Fall 2024. Hailing from the culturally rich and diverse land of India, I plan to transfer to Virginia Commonwealth University and aim to become a registered nurse. I am a fluent speaker of Hindi.
I'm thrilled to offer tours of the Chester campus on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Can't wait to meet you at Brightpoint.
Madison
Chester Campus
I’m Madison, a current Nursing major. I am originally from Chester, Virginia, but lived briefly in Louisiana with my son as a Pharmacy Technician for the U.S. Army. I plan on graduating in Fall 2024. After graduation, I want to work for Veterans Affairs as a Wound Care Nurse and eventually obtain my Bachelor’s in Nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Wilson
Chester Campus
I’m Wilson Martinez Cruz, a current Criminal Justice major. I am a first-generation student with two immigrant parents. My plan is to graduate Spring 2025 and transfer to Virginia Commonwealth University. At VCU, I want to double major in Criminal Justice and Psychology, and then later become a Homicide Detective and open up my own detective agency. I am also fluent in Spanish.

Kira
Midlothian Campus
I'm Kira, a current Science major planning to graduate with my associate's degree from Brightpoint in Summer 2024. I am also a sophomore Mechanical Engineering major at George Mason University. Starting several years ago as a dual enrollment and concurrent enrollment student, I have taken a variety of classes with Brightpoint, including both in-person and asynchronous formats. I have also participated in many Brightpoint theatre productions, and hope to combine the arts and engineering in my career.

Lillie
Midlothian Campus
I'm Lillie, a homeschool student enrolled concurrently at Brightpoint. Here at the college, I serve on the Career Services Student Advisory Board, play sand volleyball, and am part of the Business & Entrepreneurship Club.

Paige
Midlothian Campus
I'm Paige, a current Science major planning to graduate in Summer 2024. I will be transferring to start VCU's Medical Lab Science program this fall. I have previously worked as an Academic Resource Center tutor for writing and STEM, and was a student representative for the Brightpoint Community College Foundation.

The Student Ambassador Program is a leadership opportunity for Brightpoint students who are interested in representing Brightpoint Community College. Student ambassadors give campus tours; assist prospective and new students; and support various college events, including Open House and New Student Orientation.
Responsibilities
- Becomes an expert on all things Brightpoint to share with others.
- Represents Brightpoint at college events.
- Conducts campus tours for prospective students, new students, high school groups, and other guests.
- Provides tips on being a successful student.
- Assists with a variety of office-related tasks to support the Office of Student Engagement.
- Supports student success initiatives.
Benefits
- By helping prospective Brightpoint students and parents learn more about the college, student ambassadors develop a wide range of skills, such as problem solving and communication, that can help them build their resumes and succeed in the professional world.
- Student ambassadors become connected with campus leadership and fellow student leaders and may have the opportunity to serve on college committees and take trips representing the college.
- This is a paid position ($11.00/hour) with flexible hours.
Requirements
- Student ambassadors must be registered for at least one class at Brightpoint per semester; it is preferred that they take at least six credits in the fall and spring semesters.
- Student ambassadors work between 6 and 15 hours a week (outside of their Brightpoint classes).
- They are required to work events that occur during Brightpoint’s holiday breaks and before each semester begins.
- It is preferred that student ambassador applicants have at least two semesters remaining at Brightpoint and have successfully completed one semester when applying.
- It is preferred that student ambassador applicants have at least a 3.0 GPA during their time at Brightpoint.

College Closed: July 4 - 7
The college will be closed July 4 – 7 for the Independence Day holiday weekend. There will be no classes, and all college offices will be closed.
While the college is closed, current students may continue registering for classes by logging into their myBrightpoint account and using Navigate or SIS. New students interested in attending Brightpoint may get started by completing their application for admission, which is available online.
