GENERAL INFORMATION: John Tyler Community College is a two-year public institution of higher education and one of the largest of the 23 community colleges in Virginia. RESPONSIBILITIES: John Tyler Community College invites applications from accurate individuals for cashiering operation for the Midlothian and Chester Campuses at John Tyler Community College. Individuals will be responsible for collecting tuition/fees, writing receipts, preparing deposits, and other related duties, as assigned. While primarily assigned to a designated campus, the incumbent will be required to work at any JTCC location as necessary. Position limited to working a maximum of 1500 hours. Incumbent will be required to work week-day hours, two evenings a week, and flexible weekend hours if needed. Incumbents will work 20-29 hours per week maximum during the period of student registration, which occurs in January, May and August. Some weekends will be included along with longer hours during the period of student registration, which occurs in January, May and August.

QUALIFICATIONS: Required: High School diploma or equivalent required. Experience working with adult students in a higher education. General knowledge of modern office methods and equipment; considerable cashiering experience with data entry through CRT and/or personal computers. Experience with Microsoft Office required. Must have excellent communications, computer and customer service skills; be able to work in a fast paced, diverse, and occasionally stressful environment. Applicants must have the ability to work a flexible schedule. Successful completion and passing of a criminal background check will be required: INSERT. Preferred: Experience with PeopleSoft preferred.
