Databases are normally a student’s source for scholarly material. But Tumble Book Library is a database devoted to children’s literature. Whether your’re studying Early Childhood Education or just trying to find material for your child’s own studies at home, Tumble Book has something to offer. A new subscription for the library, it offers a wide variety of children’s education material:

Story Books: Start with picture books appropriate for various age levels.

E-books: Find chapter books and early readers for children of different reading levels. One of the marquee features is a Kate DiCamillo collection, featuring the author’s best-loved works like The Tale of Despereaux and Because of Winn-Dixie. 

Read-Along Options: Just click the “Play” button and your child can reach along with the audio version of the story. The highlighting will move through the text to match the audio output.

Graphic Novels: Graphic novels written for children can be accessed easily.

Nonfiction: Find informational books on history and science for a range of reading levels.

Videos: A selection of short National Geographic films for children is readily available free of charge.

Language Learning: Find children’s e-books in Spanish and French.

Playlists: See Tumble Book material pre-sorted into playlists for your convenience.

Puzzles & Games: Find grammar, memory, and Spanish language-learning games for young children.

Want to be sure the materials you select meet Common Core requirements? Never fear. At the top of the menu, you’ll see the option Common Core. Here you can see a division of material by reading level from Kindergarten to Grade 5.
